Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church is a member congregation of Denver Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America (PCUSA), a two million member denomination that traces its formation back to the American revolution. We are a part of the Reformed tradition of Protestant Christianity that began with John Calvin of Geneva, and made its way to America in large part through the Church of Scotland.
Our approach to the Christian life centers on three general principles:
- God’s love is for everybody, and everybody is welcome to join us on the journey of faith.
- When it comes to guidance, we start with the teachings of Jesus.
- When it comes to living out the faith, what we believe is never more important than the way in which we carry out our beliefs as we live and move and have our being in this world.
We believe the goal of Christian discipleship is to live as followers of Jesus, announcing his good news and preparing to live with God in eternity. So we try to do three things well: We worship, we raise our children to love and serve the Lord, and we live out the Gospel in practical, concrete ways.
We come from all walks of life, many political persuasions, and many religious backgrounds. What unites us and keeps us moving forward together is the firm belief and trust that God is in charge, and God’s will for all people is to live in holy love, peace, and justice.
